Successful launch of the New Parkers iphone App
Bauer Media looks to t2 Studios to launch the new Parkers iphone App using banner ads and national press advertising.
So, you’re going shopping for a new car. Well, not new exactly. Used. But new to you.
What do you need to take with you as you wander around the showrooms and forecourts?
A guide to the current market price of all the cars you’re going to see might be useful.
Our client Bauer Media thought so. It developed an iPhone app version of its Parker’s used car price guide to meet just that need.
Of course, used car buyers didn’t know they wanted a portable online guide – they didn’t know they could have one.
So Bauer turned to t2 Studios to help get the message over to people shopping for cars, to let them know that for just £2.99 they could access price data on more than 32,000 cars from the phone in their pocket.
We developed a campaign of online
and offline advertising that Bauer ran on its own websites and in its magazines such as Car and Classic Cars. Within eight weeks of the launch the Parker's Car Price Checker app had been downloaded more than 20,000 times.
So good advertising has helped to create a demand for a product that didn’t exist before and that people therefore didn’t know they wanted. Now thousands of people are looking up used car prices on the move.
That’s the power of advertising.
