EMAP appoints t2 Studios to refresh leading motorbike title advertising
11 February 2009
-
t2 were asked by EMAP to develop a new advertising campaign for their leading motorbike title, Motor Cycle News (MCN).
The aim of the new campaign was to increase the monthly traffic to the MCN Bikes4Sale web site by 25% and highlight the benefits of using the MCN site over rivals such as Bike Trader (part of the Auto Trader group).
We are fortunate to have enjoyed a creative relationship with EMAP since 2003 working on advertising campaigns for Your Horse, Fleet News and Max Power to name just a few. The campaign for MCN was a little different though as we had to confess that there wasn’t one biker in our team!
After analysing the competition and organising several focus groups with bikers to understand their reasons for buying and selling bikes, we created a humorous advertising campaign that played on the everyday issues that bikers faced and then encouraged them to visit the Bikes4Sale web site.
The press campaign will be launched in March 2009 and this will be supported by online activity including email newsletters, banner advertising and RSS based widgets.
